Occult is a word that is often associated with behavier that is wrong or at least out of the mainstream. In a chapter from Catherine Ponder’s book The Dynamic Laws of Healing (Amazon) I learned that the word occult simply means secret. Today’s health message is taken from Chapter 9 of that book.
Occult means that which is secret and the ancient Egyptians had a special secret name they called on for producing wonderful results. That occult name was “I AM”. The Egyptians placed great power in this name since the words I AM appeared on the walls of every Egyptian tomb.
When you use the name I AM you release a dynamic force that is going to produce results. It produces whatever you join to it so be careful. For example if you say “I am sick”, “I am tired”, “I am getting old”, “I am unhappy”, “I am a failure”, you are exercising a power that will produce those results. Catherine writes, that even though it doesn’t seem true at the moment, if you say “I am healthy”, “I am happy”, I am prosperous”, “I am a success”,it will begin to come true.
James Allen wrote the book As A Man Thinketh which was all about we become what we think about.Long before James, “As a man thinketh, so shall he become” was written in the bible. Today, the self help movement taught by such well known names as Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer and others is almost entirely based on how our thinking affects our behavier.
Today I am providing you with some support for the statement that our thinking is the basis for our health. Take an index card and write out a few “I AM’s” practice this for awhile – like 30 days and see what happens. Everyone is concerned about their own health and may you or someone you know is experiencing serious challenges to your health. The formula for exceptional health starts with how you think.
